We understand the importance of aesthetics, which is why we offer Cedar Impressions® as an alternative to standard vinyl siding. This siding features a TrueTexture™ woodgrain finish to mimic the appearance of natural wood, but is made from polymer, so it will not be susceptible to as much damage as traditional cedar shake siding.

Our Process

Step 1

Use CertainTeed’s visualizer tool to experiment with different colors and profiles.

Step 2

Once you land on your favorite combination, you’ll schedule a free consultation with us, where we’ll discuss project requirements (including budget) to help you further refine your options. Our priority is ensuring your project remains within budget!

Step 3

After you accept our quote, we’ll order your Cedar Impressions® siding.

Step 4

The project begins after we receive the materials we need from CertainTeed®. We’ll schedule a day most convenient for you and begin the work by removing old siding, repairing or replacing damaged wood (as needed), and installing foam and wrap to protect your home while we install your new siding.

Step 5

When we’ve completed site preparation, we’ll install starter strips, which are the best foundation for any siding project. We’ll always use proper channeling and clean aluminum work because we care about delivering beautiful, defect-free results.

Step 6

Next, we install the siding, ensuring we carefully handle each shingle to prevent scuffing. When installing siding, we deliver every nail by hand, which is crucial because nails can expand and contract as temperatures fluctuate (common in Michigan). If the Cedar Impressions® shingles can’t expand and contract with the nails, they will eventually warp, which you definitely don’t want for aesthetic purposes.

Step 7

After installing your siding, we’ll perform a final walkthrough to review our work and ensure you’re 100% satisfied with the results. We also guarantee a comprehensive cleanup—we believe in mess-free construction, so we always use an Equipter to catch old siding and debris during any project.

Step 8

All that’s left is for you to enjoy your new siding!

Where do I start? We needed a roof. We had an active leak that was starting to show on the ceiling in our bedroom. We reached out for quotes from 3 different companies. L&S is an excellent company to work with. Great communication and responsive to questions. The roof installation was quick and clean the crew is very hard working. We also had our porch over hang rebuilt due to water damage and the guys did a great job showing us what needed to be done. L&S did both a full roof tear-off and replacement as well as attic insulation for us, and I couldn’t be happier with how everything went. From start to finish the crew was prompt, efficient, and genuinely impressive with their cleanup; even my neighbors commented on how spotless my yard was when they left. When a permit issue came up they handled it quickly and without any hassle on my end.

When I hire a company to work on my home I have high expectations. My family lives here, I want it to be safe. L & S went above and beyond from the very first time we met Tony. He came in and explained everything to us in great detail and we felt very comfortable hiring them to redo our roof. The roofers that were on site were all very kind and courteous. They covered the entire house to prevent any debris potentially being left behind. After the job was done they did an amazing job cleaning up! Tony even came back out a few days later to ensure that everything went well and we were happy with the job! I would highly recommend them if you are looking for a new roof!

We had a great experience with L&S Home Improvement for our new roof. No complaints whatsoever. Our salesperson Ryan Moulding was great. Very knowledgeable and friendly, no pressure, good communication. Price was reasonable in relation to other quotes we had received. Installation was done in one day. Very professional crew. No nails at all in our yard...yeah none. They have a nail catching system that worked very well. They took pictures of the job as they went which made me feel much better because otherwise you don't know what's really going on up there and you're just counting on them doing what they said they were going to do. No hesitation whatsoever to recommend.

Just got our new roof done on 10/1/2025. The crew showed up bright and early and ready to work. Very pleased with the politeness and professionalism that we were shown by all the workers. Quite a big investment and it can be scary seeing that bottom line figure. However, Scott was wonderful to work with as he answered every single question I had and was very understanding of our situation as my mom has recently passed away. Had a lot going on at the moment.

I will recommend your company to anyone I know that needs roofing repairs or a new roof done. The whole process from start to finish was very thorough. L&S was the only company, and we had 3 of 4 companies come out, that actually went into our attic upon doing our estimate. The other 2 did not go in the attic and the other did only took a satellite picture of our home.

Thank you for everything! No more worries about leaks in the roof when it rains, our heating and cooling bills will be lower and we have a nicer looking home as well. The new roof, attic insulation and gutters have added value to the home and one less thing to worry about.

Tony came out to Troy home and was straight forward throughout the whole process. He gave price, timeframe, clean-up, and overall what to expect. My calls were answered and the roof and gutters are awesome. More important, the price was lower than all other estimates using top quality materials. Two thumbs up!
