Our Siding Options

L&S Home Improvements offers vinyl and wood-like vinyl siding in both Dutch Lap and traditional horizontal siding styles, available in various thicknesses to provide the best protection for your home. Some of our standard CertainTeed siding options include:

American Legend, a budget-friendly option made from recycled materials.

Monogram, a premium-grade option with greater durability.

Cedar Shake, our highest-quality option, offering a natural wood-like aesthetic without the maintenance (and hassle) of real wood.

Board & Batten, a distinctive vertical siding option that adds a rustic appearance to any home.

Our Process

Step 1

First, we help you understand what the final result will look like before the installation even begins via CertainTeed’s visualizer tool.

Step 2

Then, we’ll meet with you personally to understand project requirements, including budget. Once we understand these requirements, we’ll help you find a siding option that meets both your aesthetic and budgetary needs.

Step 3

Once you accept our quote, we’ll start the project by ordering all of the necessary materials.

Step 4

After we receive the necessary materials from CertainTeed, our work begins! On the first day, we’ll remove old siding, repair or replace damaged wood as needed, and install foam and house wrap to provide protection during the project.

Step 5

When site preparation is completed, we’ll install metal starter strips, which are the best foundation for siding projects. We always use proper channeling and clean aluminum metal work to ensure the final result is beautiful and defect-free.

Step 6

Then, we install the siding, making sure to deliver every nail by hand. This step is especially crucial because Michigan experiences extreme temperature lows and highs, causing the nails to expand and contract. If the siding doesn’t also expand and contract with the nails, it will eventually warp, and we want to ensure you enjoy your siding for many years to come. We also use an Equipter to catch old siding and debris because we believe in mess-free construction.

Step 7

After the installation, we’ll perform a final walkthrough, where we review our work with you to ensure you’re 100% satisfied and to verify that your property is clean and debris-free before we leave.

Step 8

All that’s left to do is enjoy your newly revamped home!

Where do I start? We needed a roof. We had an active leak that was starting to show on the ceiling in our bedroom. We reached out for quotes from 3 different companies. L&S was the first quote we received and I knew right away they were the company I could trust. L&S came for a consultation fully prepared with numbers, honest comparisons and a power point with information about their company. The sales associate Ryan was competent, answered any questions I had and provided a warm and welcoming environment to a stressful adult task such as buying a roof. We have a 1 1/2 year old puppy who took a liking to Ryan; and he was very understanding and accepting of our pet as well which went a long way. From productive to genuine conversation, I knew I could trust them! We were able to finance through their company which was huge for us. The job was done quickly and with amazing quality. The roofers were very nice and understanding of me and my dog being home and coming out for walks during their job. In comparison to companies out there, the price was reasonable and I could tell that Ryan was doing his absolute best to work with us on that as well. I would 10/10 recommend L&S! L&S is an excellent company to work with. Great communication and responsive to questions. The roof installation was quick and clean the crew is very hard working. We also had our porch over hang rebuilt due to water damage and the guys did a great job showing us what needed to be done. L&S did both a full roof tear-off and replacement as well as attic insulation for us, and I couldn’t be happier with how everything went. From start to finish the crew was prompt, efficient, and genuinely impressive with their cleanup; even my neighbors commented on how spotless my yard was when they left. When a permit issue came up they handled it quickly and without any hassle on my end.

When I hire a company to work on my home I have high expectations. My family lives here, I want it to be safe. L & S went above and beyond from the very first time we met Tony. He came in and explained everything to us in great detail and we felt very comfortable hiring them to redo our roof. The roofers that were on site were all very kind and courteous. They covered the entire house to prevent any debris potentially being left behind. After the job was done they did an amazing job cleaning up! Tony even came back out a few days later to ensure that everything went well and we were happy with the job! I would highly recommend them if you are looking for a new roof!

We had a great experience with L&S Home Improvement for our new roof. No complaints whatsoever. Our salesperson Ryan Moulding was great. Very knowledgeable and friendly, no pressure, good communication. Price was reasonable in relation to other quotes we had received. Installation was done in one day. Very professional crew. No nails at all in our yard...yeah none. They have a nail catching system that worked very well. They took pictures of the job as they went which made me feel much better because otherwise you don't know what's really going on up there and you're just counting on them doing what they said they were going to do. No hesitation whatsoever to recommend.

Just got our new roof done on 10/1/2025. The crew showed up bright and early and ready to work. Very pleased with the politeness and professionalism that we were shown by all the workers. Quite a big investment and it can be scary seeing that bottom line figure. However, Scott was wonderful to work with as he answered every single question I had and was very understanding of our situation as my mom has recently passed away. Had a lot going on at the moment.

I will recommend your company to anyone I know that needs roofing repairs or a new roof done. The whole process from start to finish was very thorough. L&S was the only company, and we had 3 of 4 companies come out, that actually went into our attic upon doing our estimate. The other 2 did not go in the attic and the other did only took a satellite picture of our home.

Thank you for everything! No more worries about leaks in the roof when it rains, our heating and cooling bills will be lower and we have a nicer looking home as well. The new roof, attic insulation and gutters have added value to the home and one less thing to worry about.

Tony came out to Troy home and was straight forward throughout the whole process. He gave price, timeframe, clean-up, and overall what to expect. My calls were answered and the roof and gutters are awesome. More important, the price was lower than all other estimates using top quality materials. Two thumbs up!
